Ed Widdowson

Senior Consultant, Jersey

Ed joined HLG at the start of May 2022 and has quickly settled into the team. He has been supporting other members of staff in their project management and contract administration roles and has already taken the lead on several of his own projects. As well as a keen interest in the management of projects, he is excited to become involved in the environmental and sustainability services which HLG offer.

After 35 years in a Jersey based civil and structural engineering consultancy practice Ed was keen for a different challenge in another area of the construction industry. Having worked for a diverse range of clients from private individuals to Government Departments and local businesses to overseas consultancies. He has supervised works on projects such as the refurbishment of Corbiere Lighthouse, Elizabeth Castle, St Aubin’s Fort and Harbour, refurbishment of the Social Security offices and numerous new build projects on Island. He has an ability to work as part of the team to ensure projects are delivered in line with the requirements of the client.

In his spare time Ed is passionate about keeping fit or trying too anyway. As well as gym workouts before work he is a keen runner, cyclist and tries to get out walking whenever possible. Recently he has taken up Padel tennis and is part of the summer league and his team are hoping at some point they may win one of their matches. In between exercising Ed likes to spend time with friends and watching the All-Blacks rugby team play despite how unpopular that makes him with the England supporters in the office.
