We are seeking an experienced Project Manager and a Quantity Surveyor to join our growing pan-island team.

HLG ASSOCIATES Ltd is expanding and is looking for suitable applicants to join their Guernsey Office.

HLG Associates have been established in Jersey for over ten years and have recently joined forces with Lindum Consult to form HLG Services (Gsy). We offer a range of services in the construction sector, including Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Contract Administration, Procurement, Health and Safety Project Coordinator and Environmental Services. We pride ourselves on our client relationships and delivering high-quality services first time, every time.

We are offering full-time permanent posts to experienced, dynamic and motivated individuals capable of operating in a close team environment. Excellent communication skills are vital, and experience in delivering a wide range of projects to both residential and commercial clients is preferred.

Project Manager role and responsibilities:

  • Preparation of proposals to meet project scope and specifications
  • Manage contract tendering, adjudication and award
  • Project programming and reporting
  • Manage project budgets and financial reporting
  • Lead design and site meetings with clients, contractors and consultants
  • Management of contracts to JCT and or NEC standard
  • Client and contractor liaison
  • Project handover and closedown

Quantity Surveyor role and responsibilities:

  • Quantifying architect’s and engineer’s drawings
  • Providing bills of quantities and cost estimates
  • Preparation of orders/contract documents for works
  • Financial management of site works and record-keeping 
  • Management of contracts to JCT and or NEC standard
  • Undertake value engineering and cost planning

Experience and skills:

  • Experience of operating in the Construction and Contracting industry and managing projects from inception to completion
  • High-level Health and Safety awareness and an understanding of the requirements of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Experienced in managing both residential and commercial projects
  • Familiarity with JCT and NEC forms of contract
  • Competent with using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage clients, contractors and consultants
  • Self-starting and able to work with minimal supervision
