Simon is the founding director of HLG and the sole shareholder of the parent company. His primary responsibilities are nurturing our relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry; and delivering procurement and project leadership services on high-value / high-complex projects. He is a passionate ‘risk hunter’ and works tirelessly to ensure our client’s interests are always identified early and well protected.

Simon is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a Chartered Builder with extensive experience of delivering strategic commercial solutions for all sorts of clients and projects. He has led teams on major infrastructure programmes like London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, Palace of Westminster Restoration and Renewal Programme and the UK’s 2021 Census. In addition, he has successfully delivered projects for numerous government departments, both in the UK and the Channel Islands. Most recently, he has focussed on growing HLG in the Channel Islands, helping to establish the Guernsey office and diversify our overall service-offering. Equally comfortable working as a part of or leading a team, he is extremely well thought of by clients and industry peers and his tactical advice and solutions regularly save clients time and money.

Simon devotes some of his spare time to supporting the Jersey Chamber of Commerce and the Jersey Construction Council, where he leads on several boards. Outside of work, Simon loves spending time with his young family, catching up with friends, and following his beloved Southampton Football Club (though this love is sometimes very sorely tested!). He is also a keen follower of all US sports and the very many Arizona sports teams. Regular visits to the US are therefore the watch word, with Simon and his family going to either baseball, gridiron or ice hockey games in some of America’s most iconic locations! Yee-ha!
